DROWNING IS AN EXCRUCIATING FEELING UNTIL YOU LET THE WATER IN.
It's the trying to hold your breath, trying to fight and kick and swim that tortures you the most.
But once you finally give in, once you finally breathe, finally allow the water to fill your lungs, that's when the pain stops. It's meant to be kind of peaceful.
It wasn't for me.
Because drowning is really just a metaphor for living in this world and trying to leave it is like attempting to escape hell before you even get there.
He saved me that night. Pulled me back from the edge and forced me to keep fighting with the promise he'd help me find the light in the darkness.
Little did he know that I didn't want to be saved, and fighting is the most painful thing you can make someone do.
